West Islip High School Fore N' Aft 1960 Page One Unity |
|
This need for one another expresses itself in many ways, but we have chosen to show it in terms of unity--unity of the activities we shared, the sports we enjoyed, the studies we pursued, the friendships we made and the memories we hold. It is not easy to write of things that are actually in being, between a past that is only beginning to lengthen into distances and a future that is still unknown. Events move quickly, and living things change even while they move. However, to us even this movement is unified as we leave a thankful past and embark toward a joyful future.

"No man is an island: No man stands alone. Each man's joy is joy to me; Each man's grief is my own. We need one another." There is a destiny that makes us brothers; None goes his way alone. All that we send into the lives of others Comes back into our own. All our strength is in our union All our danger in discord. Like chords in unison they move And thrill with like vibrations. Behold how good and pleasant it is For students to dwell together in unity John Donne
